The G1R is a backpackable UAS that is ready to fly directly from its tube container. The range of the G1R is 10-15 km, and flight duration from 70- 90 minutes cruising at speed of 18 – 35 knots. Constructing the G1R is from lightweight carbon fiber for both the airframe and its flexible wings allow it to be extremely robust. The wings are folded around its fuselage, allowing the entire UAV to fit in a small 6″ tube. When pulled out of the tube, the folded wings automatically snap into place. The weighs less than 2lbs with its payload and has a wing span of 26 inches. The G1R will operate at an altitudes from of 200 – 500ft. AGL, at elevations up to 11,000ft. above sea level. The G1R will launch by a hand toss from a standing, sitting, or prone position or from a moving vehicle. Launching it from a tube is also a feature.
Carrying it in an ‘assault pack’ is easy due to the G1R systems portability. It is equipped with a modular payload comprising a forward looking daylight camera, low-light camera or side looking thermal sensor, or a gimbaled sensor. The ground control unit utilizes any PC loaded with the GCU software and communications kit.
