Mobile Communication Antenna Positioner (MCAP)
The AREIS Mobile Communication Antenna Positioner (MCAP) enables the use of high gain directional antennas for moving assets C4ISR . MCAP is a manual and automatic positioner. There are two different interfaces to the positioner. The primary is through the tablet PC and the AREIS MoogPositioner application. The secondary interface is through the an and Tilt Positioner Controller (PTPC). The interface devices and supporting hardware are in a ruggedized Pelican case.
Control
The ruggedized Tablet PC is located in the GCS lid operates using the Windows 10 OS and contains the AREIS MoogPositioner software application which communicates with the Moog MPT-90 Pan and Tilt Positioner through an IP interface. This application displays state information from the positioner as well as the C4IRS radios and provides position mode selection and manual control. For auto tracking, the software communicates via an IP interface to the Base and Remote C4ISR radios for GPS and link quality data.
The Pan and Tilt Positioner Controller (PTPC) allows the operator to manually control the AREIS Moog Positioner using a joystick. Manual control from this controller is usable only when not operating the AREIS Moog Positioner application in Auto mode. The PTPC communicates to the AREIS Moog Positioner via a serial interface.
